New Climate Change Strategy
Overview
We would welcome your feedback on our New Climate Change Strategy.
Our Strategy sets out a framework for action on climate change and achieving our targets of reaching net zero emissions by 2040 for the Council’s own operation and 2045 for the Clackmannanshire area.
It also outlines why net zero matters and summarises the science behind climate change.
The implementation of the Interim Climate Change Strategy is anticipated to result in substantial environmental benefits, however the strategy was subject to the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) process to ensure that any projects stemming from the strategy are meticulously designed to mitigate any potential adverse impacts to the greatest extent possible.
The Strategy has also been updated to reflect input from communities through five climate change forums that were held across Clackmannanshire from September 2022 to March 2023 and different stakeholders. Moreover, the Strategy underwent a thorough internal review during 2024.
Why your views matter
Your input will shape the Climate Change Strategy and we will respond to all the feedback that you provide in this consultation.
To be as transparent as possible, a summary of all your feedback, including how we updated the strategy in response to it, will be added to an appendix of a report that goes to Council seeking approval of the Climate Change Strategy. We will ensure that all the responses are anonymous.
By doing this, all the anonymous responses will be available in the public domain so you can see our actions in response to your input.
