We asked

The public were invited to make representation on how they travelled for short everyday journeys.  It explored respondents’ participation in active travel for both commuting and leisure purposes, the barriers to active travel and factors that could encourage greater uptake.

You said

There were 84 representations received during the public notice period from individuals and five focus groups providing more detailed feedback. 

The main concerns raised by respondents were the need for improved lighting and safety of existing path networks, maintenance of paths and obstructions on already narrow pavements.

We did

A maintenance programme has resumed on cycle paths across the region and new lighting has already been installed on some paths. 

Other comments raised by the public will be taken into consideration and will help steer the Active Travel Strategy and future cycling, walking and wheeling initiatives.

What happens next

The information you provide will be analysed to build a clearer picture of how people currently travel in and around Clackmannanshire. This will directly inform the Council’s future plans to improve walking, wheeling, cycling and other sustainable transport options.

Your feedback will help identify where infrastructure changes are needed most, so we can create safer, more accessible routes and support the shift towards a greener, more sustainable future for all.
