Budget Engagement 2020/21

Closed 24 Jan 2020

Opened 17 Dec 2019

Overview

The Council will meet in February 2020 to set its annual budget for 2020/21.

As in previous years, setting a balanced budget continues to be extremely challenging and further tough decisions will have to be made.

Our budget gap over the next 3 years is around £19m, with just over £7m of savings required in 2020/21.

However, our transformation programme is underway and this is driving change at the Council which we believe in time will lead to financial sustainability.

The transformation programme is changing the way in which some services are delivered in order to reduce costs, many of which could involve working in collaboration with a range of partners.

Why your views matter

A number of management efficiencies and policy decisions have been proposed by our leadership team to help close the budget gap of around £7m.

It is vital that those impacted by these proposed changes are consulted, impacts understood and mitigations put in place. That engagement process is underway.

To further inform the process of budget setting by councillors we are consulting more widely on two proposals which will affect the majority of residents in Clackmannanshire.

Please fill in our short questionnaire to let us know your views on these proposals.

What happens next

The consultation feedback will be consolidated and shared with elected members ahead of the budget setting council meeting to be held before the end of the financial year.
