Gaelic Plan

Overview

Clackmannanshire Council has developed a draft Gaelic Language Plan for 2026 – 2031, setting out how we aim to support and promote Gaelic across our communities, services and workforce.

The plan outlines how we will ensure Clackmannanshire residents can access Gaelic learning at all ages and stages of life, ensure Gaelic language, culture and heritage, is promoted, our employees have increased knowledge and capacity about Gaelic and meet their statutory responsibilities, and that Gaelic-speaking residents can access Council services and information in Gaelic wherever possible.

As a public authority, we have responsibilities under the Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005 to support the use and development of Gaelic. This plan explains how we intend to meet these duties and contribute to Scotland’s wider Gaelic ambitions.

The draft plan is available to view as an attachment under the related documents section at the bottom of this page.
