The Council is proposing to relocate Lochies School to The Pavilions at Alloa West.
We received 104 responses to the online public consultation. Seventy-nine percent of the respondents were in favour of the proposal and 21% were not.
The main reasons given by those that opposed the proposal were about access to the site, issues with possible flooding, parking and congestion.
The Council has created a joint programme for the Wellbeing Hub and Lochies School developments at The Pavilions.
The current Lochies school needs expanded to meet pupils’ needs.
A recent paper to Clackmannanshire Council recommends relocating Lochies to a new site within the Alloa Academy catchment area.
Having considered a number of sites and consulted with parents the preferred site for the replacement Lochies school is beside The Pavilions Business Park near Redwell Primary school in Alloa.
The Council is required to consult in accordance with the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, and a decision on the new site will not be taken until this process is complete and the results of the consultation are reported back to Councillors.
Your views will help us to determine the best place to relocate the school and to consider your views within the planning process.
The consultation is very short and will take around 5 minutes to complete.
A report will be prepared and submitted to Education Scotland in January 2023 and then to Clackmannanshire Council in February 2023.
Once approved, the final report will be uploaded to the Citizen Space consultation page.
