Mainstreaming Equality and Diversity Report 2017-21
Overview
We are committed to tackling discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and promoting good relations both within our workforce and the wider community.
Mainstreaming equality is the process by which we are working towards ensuring that equality is at the heart of everything that we do as an organisation.
We have a Mainstreaming Equality and Diversity Report (2013 – 2017) which sets out our approach to equalities.
As part of our duty to promote equality, we are required to publish a set of Equality Outcomes every 4 years. Outcomes are results which we aim to achieve which will promote improvements in people’s life chances.
Why your views matter
The purpose of this consultation is to highlight progress on equalities since the publication of our first Mainstreaming Equality and Diversity Report and assist us with the development of our Mainstreaming Equality and Diversity Report for 2017 – 2021.
We would like to hear your views on how we are performing on equality and diversity matters and what improvements we can make over the next 4 years. This would include things that we are doing well, areas that need to be improved and your views on our draft Equality Outcomes.
What happens next
The report will be presented to Council and published by 29th April 2017.
