Under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 as amended, Clackmannanshire Council is required to prepare and maintain a list of people who have registered interest with the authority with the intention of acquiring land in the authority's area for self-build housing.
This list is available on request and will be published and updated every 2 years on the Council's website.
How the list will be used
Understanding the demand for self-provided housing is important for both the Council’s plan-making and decision-taking. The self-build list will be monitored alongside broader housing market data and help to inform policies and proposals in the LDP.
It will improve our understanding of the level of demand for self-build plots, the locations where plots are being sought and the types of house that people would like to build. Registration does not however guarantee that suitable plots will be identified, or become available.
To ensure the information is up to date, the list will initially be updated every 2 years, after which time the Council will contact those on the list to check if they wish to remain on it, or alter any details held. Should anyone wish their details to be removed at any other point (i.e. no longer requiring a self-build plot), they should contact the Council to request this.
