Silly Squad Summer Reading Challenge

Closed 10 Aug 2020

Opened 24 Jun 2020

Overview

The Summer Reading Challenge is the biggest children’s reading for pleasure programme in the UK. Last year over 700,000 children and their families took part.

This year we are taking a different approach.

The initiative will be held online and rather than 6 physical books the aim is to encourage children to read whatever makes them happy, get silly and have fun!

Participants earn points and online badges as they progress through the challenge.

To get started parents need to help their children by visiting the Summer Reading Challenge website.

Why your views matter

In support of the Summer Reading Challenge, Library Services are running an eBooks Treasure Hunt activity.

Based in the main parks in Tullibody, Alloa, Alva Tillicoultry and Menstrie,  children are encouraged to find the 6 hidden books and answer the questions to enter a prize draw later in the summer.

We hope you will take part by filling in this online Treasure Hunt quiz. Good luck!

The Treasure Hunt winner will receive a £50 Waterstones voucher.

What happens next

We will be in touch with the winner in late August.
